THE SHORT ANSWER
Official military steps first. Local life next.
Start with your current USFK or installation Housing Office status. A Pyeongtaek off-post house can be shortlisted before arrival, but a listing, allowance assumption or realtor message does not authorize off-post housing. Keep official eligibility, live property availability, licensed brokerage and the final lease as four separate confirmations.
PDI is not USFK, DoD, a command or Housing Office. Official instructions and decisions always control.
OFFICIAL ROUTE FIRST
Housing authorization comes before a local lease.
USFK’s published housing guidance says accompanied command-sponsored personnel are assigned government quarters based on rank and family size, while off-base housing is authorized when on-base occupancy exceeds the stated threshold or when otherwise approved. The responsible office’s current decision controls your case.
Before comparing homes, record the installation, sponsor status, household size, reporting date, temporary-lodging deadline and the exact official step already completed. PDI does not determine entitlement, allowance or an exception to policy.
COMPARE THE WHOLE HOME
A rental-house photo is not a housing decision.
Compare the exact gate and departure time—not a generic ‘minutes from base’ claim. Add rent, maintenance, utilities, deposit, brokerage, furniture or appliance rental, vehicle needs and one-time setup costs to the same monthly and move-in budget.
For every home, retain the source URL, property identifier, last-confirmed timestamp, licensed broker or provider, pet and furnishing terms, repair promises and which facts remain unconfirmed. A marketing post without a fresh availability check is a lead, not inventory.
CAMP HUMPHREYS FAQ
Questions people search before they arrive
You can prepare requirements and a shortlist, but official housing status and live property availability still need current confirmation through the responsible Housing Office and provider route.
No. Published USFK guidance describes the occupancy condition and other approval routes, but the responsible office’s current determination controls the individual case. Do not sign based only on an assumed threshold.
Compare move-in cash, maintenance and utilities, exact gate commute, bedrooms, school and pet fit, furnishings, repairs, cancellation, licensed brokerage and the property’s last-confirmed availability.
No. Public records and supplier feeds are discovery information. PDI records the source and confirmation time, then a named provider must confirm the property and final terms.
QUESTIONS BEFORE ACTION
Do not let one attractive answer hide the missing facts.
- Which official housing step is complete?
- Which gate and departure time matter?
- What is the family’s temporary-stay deadline?
- Which benefits or approvals remain unknown?
SAMPLE WORKING TABLE
Turn the question into fields that can be checked.
Sample values demonstrate PDI’s format. They are not a live listing, appointment, booking, allowance, eligibility result or professional opinion.

What to do next
- Open the current installation source
- Record official status without self-approving
- Model gate travel by time
- Keep allowances and availability unguaranteed
PRIMARY STARTING SOURCES
Use a dated source, then recheck the live fact.
PDI explains and coordinates the path. USFK, the installation Housing Office, the licensed broker, the property owner and the final contract control their respective decisions.
